Since 1965, Austria’s first glacier ski area has also been open to skiers in the summer. In subsequent years, the region was increasingly equipped with new cableways and lifts. By now, the so-called Gipfelwelt 3000 is a tourism engine for the towns of Zell am See and Kaprun. New glacier cableways were installed for the 50-year anniversary to allow for more direct access to the mountains. The cableway axis Gletscherjet 3 and 4 are their centrepieces. These stand out in that they enable guests to tour around the peaks in the summer and let sporty visitors reach the slopes more quickly in the winter.A total of 15,000 t of RHEINZINK titanium zinc with the RHEINZINK prePATINA blue grey surface quality were installed. A specially adjusted cassette construction was used for the roof and facade cladding. You can find more information in the project report that can be downloaded on the left.
